The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Hispanic Serving Institutions National Program promotes the continued growth of Hispanic enrollment in Higher Education. The USDA Hispanic Serving Institutions National Program acts as a positive and dynamic, innovative, driving force at USDA in support of a workforce and educational delivery reflective of the needs of a diverse population. This is accomplished through targeted partnerships with Hispanic Serving Institutions and other public an private entities in a manner that supports the agricultural industry in the 21st century.
USDA offers internship, fellowship, and scholarship programs to undergraduate and graduate students in a verity of academic fields. In addition, the office provides conference sponsorship and career mentorship to students, and organizes career fairs. In addition, they also promote grant, funding and collaborative opportunities. The USDA Agricultural Ambassadors Program provides high school students with the opportunity to intern with the USDA Agricultural Research Service in Edinburg, TX, and Parlier, CA. Students selected will also receive a leadership development training. Ambassadors are selected based on their academic excellence, interest in science, and demonstrated leadership qualities.

HACU National Internship Program
- Since 1992, HACU has offered one of the best internship programs in the country. They believe that participation in an internship is an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on work experience, but internships offered through many other organizations often come at a price, whether monetary or otherwise. Students may apply for internships during the Fall, Spring, and Summer. In addition to gaining valuable work experience, students may also earn academic credit.
